Conference / Convention Demonstration & Performance Group Instruction Coming to Louisiana and you need a dance partner for a dance? Call us... Are you experiencing all of the joy life can offer? Come share in the "le joi de vie"?(le joie de vivre) -"the JOY of life"? -- Zydeco Dance Lessons -- Now signing up for MAY Classes Prepare for the upcoming Festival Season (Contraband Festival - Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival - Spice Festival, Zydeco Extravaganza, etc... etc...) Zydeco Dance Lessons- Basic & Beyond We are now offering an on-going 4 week, 1 hour per week, zydeco class for the upcoming festival season! We would like to ask that you sign up in advance so we can properly plan for the class, but it is not necessary- (pay as you go - provided there is space available). Classes will be structured around Basic Zydeco Steps along with newer alternative steps, including Zydeco Waltz with extra moves! We will also be offering a breakdown of the Zydeco Shuffle line dance. *Tuesdays: May 1 - May 22...& Beyond Next session beginning May 29th Covering Basic & Alternative Zydeco IF you wish to participate, please text your name and email address with a request to be added to the class. Payment can be either made in advance thru the 'Buy Now' link below or with cash at the class. . . please come early your first time to sign in! Private Lessons are available on Monday evenings 6~6:30 pm or anytime by appointment- (deposit required) Call, text or email to sign up! If you have a group and would like semi-private instruction, contact me! We are located at: 333c East Gloria Switch Rd, 70507 We are ½ (0.5) mile EAST of I-49, Look for the first commercial establishment past Jim's Lounge on the left! There is a prominent business sign, just before an Oak Tree for -Lafayette Cash Registers & Mel's Computer Service; at 333 East Gloria Switch Road; our driveway is on the left side of the parking lot next to the hurricane fence. We're at the end of the concrete driveway, about 300 feet from the road. Our neighbors have a gravel driveway that runs along the other/wrong side of the Hurricane fence, our drive way is the paved or concrete drive way past the fence. This site is owned and maintained by Mike Humphries, an avid Cajun and Zydeco dancer, who along with his wife are enjoying the God given gift of unrestricted Joy (la joie de vie). We actively seek out of the way Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco Festivals to attend and dance with like minded individuals from across the nation. We are delighted to have been invited back to teach Cajun & Zydeco dance lessons at "Cajun Fest- Taste Louisiana Cajun & Zydeco Music Festival in Amana, Iowa on Memorial Day weekend. Large Concrete Dance Area, Smoking Permitted
Webmaster's note: This is located on Hwy 71 15.5 miles NW of Hwy 190. Hwy 71 branches off Hwy 190 1~1.5 miles WEST of Krotz Springs or about 7~9 Miles EAST of Port Barre and is the straightest road I've ever seen for 15.7 miles; and it has been overlaid with in the past couple of years and is probably the smoothest long stretch of straight road in the state! So it's easy to not notice your speed! Please observe traffic laws along this stretch as it well patrolled by St. Landry Parish Deputies & LA State Police. From Baton Rouge, take Hwy 190 west through Krotz Springs, for about 1 mile and take the next exit to the right- Hwy 71, drive on Hwy 71 (@55~59mph) for 15.2 miles and take the gravel/shell road to the right. You'll see the 4' by 8' sign at the corner- Lebeau Zydeco Festival! From Lafayette, go to Opelousas, take a right on Hwy 190 (EAST) and pass through Port Barre (at the speed limit) for about 7~9 Miles and take exit to the right, HWY 71, drive on Hwy 71 (@55~59mph) for 15.2 miles and take the gravel/shell road to the right. You'll see the 4' by 8' sign at the corner- Lebeau Zydeco Festival! Baton Rouge CFMA Dances are now held at the UCT Hall 11175 Florida Blvd. Map to the UCT Hall Dances will now be held at the UCT Hall on Florida Blvd, just west of Sherwood Forest Blvd. (less than a block toward the river - Directly across from Rabenhorst East!) This hall is a welcome relief to the possibility of no more Friday Night Fais-Do-Dos!
